Paula Joerling, widely known for her creative use of unorthodox materials in her illustrations, has always been on the cutting edge. She is know for incorporating fabric, stitched paper and found objects into her art. Forever in search of inspiration, she scours flea markets, antique stores and garage sales in search of goodies to work into her mixed media pieces. Shelley Hely was born in Australia, where she resides with her husband and twins, a son and daughter. One of seven children, she grew up in a lively artistic environment. From an early age Shelley had a keen interest in art, influenced by the European ceramics and paintings that graced the walls of the family home. Shelley studied art at school and began to experiment with design and screen-printing. She went onto University and completed her Arts degree with a Major in Linguistics.
