Ivo studied Mural Painting in the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria. He has exhibited widely in museums and commercial galleries across Europe and North America and is the recipient of numerous prestigious grants and mural commissions.
His paintings are meditative works, created through the layers of various colors and textures - like the layers of leaves on a woodland floor, each leaf adding a new level to my understanding of nature.
Overall, Ivo’s goal is to somehow capture the fragility and beauty of natural forms and attempt to reclaim the experience of the outdoors in his Toronto studio.
Born and raised in Waterloo, Ontario, Karin was drawn to art at an early age. Coming from a family of watercolour artists, including Irish artist Donald MacPherson, Karin feels very comfortable working in watercolour. Guided by instinct, she uses bold brushstrokes and vibrant colours in an unconventional approach to the medium. Continually inspired by the artistic talents of her young sons, Karin draws her influences from wide range of sources, including traditional Asian art, minimal abstract art, and popular culture. She is excited about the renewed popularity of watercolour today’s art world.
