Paula Joerling, widely known for her creative use of unorthodox materials in her illustrations, has always been on the cutting edge. She is know for incorporating fabric, stitched paper and found objects into her art. Forever in search of inspiration, she scours flea markets, antique stores and garage sales in search of goodies to work into her mixed media pieces. Old department store catalogs, vintage wallpaper sample books, costume jewelry and buttons are some favorites. Blakely Bering’s professional art career began upon graduating with a BFA in theater design. Blakely put her studies in costume and set design to direct use by working in opera design and television production around the United States. Transitioning from large scale design to fine art was seamless and natural for her.
