Ever since she was able to hold tools, Katie Sue Blevins has been creating art. Growing up in southern California, the tool was often a stick to draw in the sandy beaches near her home. Her mother, a painter, inspired her to create with whatever was at hand.

Katie is self-taught, and considers herself somewhat of an "outsider" artist. She has a deep and personal appreciation for the beauty that can be found in nature, and this beauty often serves as the foundation for her work. Photographs have fascinated Marlana since she was a child. “There has always been something so alluring about capturing something on film-a look, an attitude a feeling so fleeting and precious. Just the thought that a subject can be immortalized by a single image has always been an extraordinary thing to me. It is like a message in a little bottle that is sent out into the world. In my life I have been blessed to work with amazing people who are the best in the photographic field.
