"Art has always been a major part of my life." Artist Barb Lindner is inspired by the natural world surrounding her. From a young age she was mesmerized by colors, textures and patterns. Today she thrills at exploring those elements in her work. Her artwork incorporates an eclectic mix of influences. "I love things that are handmade, imperfect, passionate and beautiful." After graduating from art school where she completed a fine arts foundation curriculum on Display and Design, Barb spent some time traveling in Europe, becoming inspired by the new cultures and art that surrounded her.
Growing up in farm country Pennsylvania, Edith Lentz started her art career in graphic design. Her experience in creating bold, graphic layouts for commercial projects provided a formula that she uses to tackle each art piece. Combining organic and geometric elements, cool with warm color palettes, as well as painterly and graphic elements, gives her work a unique look that is appealing to her audience. "Most importantly I like to include a whimsical touch to provoke a smile in today's serious environment."
Karen has an honours’ degree in Interior Design, but her first love has always been painting; especially the human figure. She has several models with whom she works on a regular basis, but is constantly inspired by new people.
She has always admired the Pre-Raphaelite painters, especially the poetic and romantic images of Rossetti and Waterhouse. The expressive portraits of John Singer Sergeant have also been a major influence.
